Propitiation

We are not saved because of what the Romans and Jews did in torturing and crucifying Jesus at Calvary. We are saved because of what God did to Jesus. We are saved because while Jesus hung on that tree His own Father crushed Him and poured out His fierce anger and wrath at sin on Him.

Good Thoughts Dave. Propitiation is one of the keywords in our understanding of the extent and effect of the atonement.

If you have not read W.G.T. Shedd on the atonement, it is well worth the cost to buy his "Dogmatic Theology."
